Little bit of history

The House of Hermès

Founded in 1837 in Paris by Thierry Hermès, the Maison began as a distinguished harness workshop serving the European aristocracy. Renowned for producing the finest saddlery and equestrian goods, Hermès quickly established a reputation for uncompromising quality, precision, and durability.

Over the decades, the House evolved into one of the world’s most prestigious luxury brands, expanding into leather goods, silk, and ready-to-wear — yet always remaining deeply rooted in its artisanal heritage. To this day, each Hermès bag is meticulously handcrafted by a single artisan, preserving techniques that have been refined over generations. Hermès embodies a philosophy of quiet, enduring luxury, where excellence is not displayed, but understood.

The Story of the Birkin

The iconic Birkin bag was born in 1984, following an encounter between British actress Jane Birkin and Jean-Louis Dumas, then CEO of Hermès, on a flight from Paris to London.

During the journey, Jane Birkin spoke of her struggle to find a handbag that was both elegant and practical enough for everyday life. Inspired by her needs, Dumas sketched the design of a new bag, one that would merge functionality, structure, and timeless refinement.

The result was the Birkin: a spacious, structured tote designed to accompany women effortlessly through daily life, while maintaining the highest standards of craftsmanship and elegance.

Rouge Casaque: A Signature Expression

The Rouge Casaque shade is one of Hermès’ most vibrant and memorable reds: bold, luminous, and unmistakably chic. Inspired by the vivid tones of equestrian uniforms, it reflects the Maison’s heritage while bringing a modern, confident edge.

Paired with palladium hardware, this combination offers a striking contrast: fresh, powerful, and effortlessly sophisticated.
